They say you learn a lot as a new parents... not just the baby-management stuff, but things like life lessons.
well, I got my first one from baby August.
Because August is so cute and helpless, sometimes she finds herself in rather undignified situations. Y'know, hair sticking straight up, flopping over and face planting into your arms, red-faced and crying like a maniac. Today she was semi-sitting up when she wobbled, teetered and slumped over to her right. Her elbow landed on a pillow I had placed there so she ended up looking like a dizzy drunkard trying to hold her drink upright. It quite a embarrassing moment - if she cared about such things.
But to me, it was hilarious... so I started laughing.
Well, she saw me smiling and laughing, so she smiled back at me.
Nevermind, I was laughing at her. She didn't care. There was something funny and she was enjoying the moment too.
Lesson: Learn to laugh at yourself. |
